18 Inch Boy Doll Clothes Pattern - Workout Suit

Workout Bodysuit Sewing Directions:

Here are instructions for making a one piece bodysuit to fit 18 inch (45cm) full body dolls like AG Logan and Gotz Parker with similar body types. The bodysuit can be made up in a plain or sports pattern to go under shorts, trousers, or sport pants.

Note: When cutting out the fabric for the 18 inch doll bodysuit add one quarter inch around the pattern piece for seam allowance. The pattern outline is the seam line.

Workout Bodysuit Pattern:

Each square is 1 inch square or 2.5 x2.5cm. First draw grid, then carefully copy in pattern.

Supplies needed:

You’ll need one quarter yard (one quarter meter) of material for bodysuit.

Two sticky dots for shirt front and back closings.

Belt: Strip of contrasting fabric 2.5 inches (6cm) wide by 21 inches (53cm) long – fold in one quarter inch on long sides, fold in half, press, and blind stitch. Tie in square knot. (Right over left and under; left over right and under.)

This is a very easy to make bodysuit pattern with just 1 piece. The pattern piece is below. Cut 4 pieces of the pattern: 2 for front and 2 for back. Add one quarter inch seam allowance when cutting out fabric. The pattern piece outline is the seam line.

Sew center front seams together beginning 2 inches below bottom tip of diagonal neckline.

Place good side of front and back toward each other and sew underarms all the way to bottom hem on both sides. Sew front to back at shoulders.

For hems roll edges in one eighth inch twice and blind stitch: Lower legs, lower sleeves and all the way around front center up to neck, around neck, down to back center, up to neck around to front and back to starting place. Sew front to back inseam.

To finish sew a sticky dot on center of front and back opening. Having openings in front and back makes the body suit easy to put on and take off.
