I. Poems
and Prayers

At
home, at school, or at play |
Walkin' along
Feelin' fine
Meetin' with friends
We spend some time
Crossin' a bridge
Watchin' the ducks
We toss in some bread
Which they're catchin'
with luck
Walkin' along
There's a fallen bird nest
We lift it back up
To an empty branch crest
Friends
headin' home
Play's over t'day
Feelin' good, feelin'
fine
For carin' in small
ways
Remember
these words
they'll teach and show
how in life we all should go
Whether we're young or very old
this is a story to be told
When
mornin's light at dawn appears
we have another day
Another day to show we care
Another day to care and share
with family, friends that we hold
dear
and everyone that we are near
But
first when up and cleaned and dressed
ready for the day
take some time to thank the Lord
"Thank you, God," we pray
This
little prayer of
"Thank you, God"
sets the day aright
keeps us feeling all day long
more positive and bright
And
if we act in the world most lovingly
then we give ourselves productively
And
when our thoughts are true and bright
we shine forth our inner light—
our inner light of God's own love
reflecting out on those we
love
And
when we love we shine our light
Soon our world becomes more bright
And
so, let's thank God every day
with all our energy and might
for blessing us so warmly, closely
with a Shining, Loving Light!
At
home, at school, or at play
Thank you, Lord, for this new day
And, dear Lord, help me remember
That happiness lives inside me
forever
The
lightness of angel wings
Inspire me to fly; I'm free
To spread my wings of love
Wherever I may be
Flying
free, flying free
On wings of love I choose to be
To spread my wings of love
Wherever I may be
I
wear my heart as a blazing star
Shining love near and far
Pulsing
heart
Beating light, beating love, beating
light
Shining
love near and far
My pulsing heart a blazing star
Pulsing
heart
Beating light, beating love, beating
light
Beating
love, beating light
Beating love, beating light
I
asked, "Lord, teach me how to pray?"
And the Lord said, "Okay"
Prayer is kindness, prayer is caring
Giving friendship first, and sharing
Golden
Light, shining bright
Always teach me what is right
Teach
me to speak with kindness and care
Teach me to be willing to share
Golden
Light, shining bright
Always teach me what is right
Teach
me to remember, when playing with others
That all of us are world sisters and brothers
Golden
Light, shining bright
Keep our world family safe in your sight
Little
Johnny Flitter-Flooter
Running all around
Across the barnyard, along the creek
He never can be found
Where can he be found?
Darting
through the pine woods
Racing along the road
Little Johnny only stopping
To play with a speckled toad
A springing, croaking speckled toad
Supper's
bell, he hears it ringing
Sounding far away
Johnny trudges home at last
Winding down his busy day
Winding down from all his play
Little
Johnny snug in bed
Tuckered out from playing
Takes some time to thank the Lord
Soon sleeping after praying
Sweet dreaming after praying
The
Planner
who set the stars a-light
placing their planets in perfect
flight
The Creator
of flowers; delicate, bright
lifting our spirits to thankful
heights
The Force
which gathers up the winds
clearing the clouds; blue skies again
The Nurturer
who made water flow
causing seeds and sprouts to grow
The Loving Heart
where souls are born
to come to know we are adorned
with grace 'n harmony to share
the bliss and joy of love 'n care

*
Our lives are as vines
intertwined
*
Stuck like glue in a point of view
blocks out other choices
*
Growth, through taking responsibility
the way of living happily
*
We each have a personal line
to an advisor
called our conscience
*
What is here on planet earth
is for our use; usefully
*
We can't see air, but we breathe it
in
We can't see love, but we breathe it
out
through our actions
*
The seed of love
with caring
grows into a flowering plant
*
Pure in heart
Clear in mind
Life is calm
All is fine
*
Kind in mind
Feelin’ fine
*
The Love of God brings us all
together as one
We are one now
and we have always been one
One World Family
*
Loving words
Loving actions
Make many happy reactions
*
Blame delays constructive action
*
People know we love them
by the caring that we show them
*
Think well
Speak well
Act well
Be well
*
Clear thinking
Happy living
*
Loving creates peace
Peace in ourselves
Peace in our world
