1. December 26, 2003. The 2nd day of
Christmas; our traditional family celebration usually at Vic's house, but
this year with Susan and Stan in Castricum. We are also celebrating Simon's
17th birthday on the 23rd and Susan's 39 again birthday on the 30th. L.

11. Christmas Day, December 25, 2003. Yes,
these are roses in the front garden blooming. A gale was blowing and petals
were flying off while I was snapping pictures. Today, the 27th, most of
the petals have blown away. I think we're the only home with roses still
blooming outside. We have had many nights of below freezing weather and
on December 22nd we had hail and snow. It is very special for us that the
roses waited to open till Christmas day; it speaks volumes.
