Just Yesterday

Just yesterday you left me
To journey on my own.
A little whispered breath
During a thunderstorm.

I woke up in the morning
To see who I can be
Because just yesterday
You left me.

I miss your hugs, kisses and thoughts
I go shopping and can't show you what I bought.

The autumn leaves are turning
To shades of yellow, brown and red
In fireplaces - logs are burning
To warm the evening bread.

You taught me to open my eyes
To do acts of giving and love.
To share and care without sighs
And hugs as snug as a glove.

I miss you day and night
And know God has a gem
Because you're not within my sight

I know you are with Him.
